VAT Exemption Information
Please note that VAT at 17.5% will be added to all orders. You may be eligible for zero-rating VAT on the product you are considering purchasing, enabling you to claim the VAT back after placing the order.
The zero-rating of goods and services for disabled people depends in part upon the status of the recipient. In order to qualify for zero-rating the eligible person must be 'chronically sick or disabled'. This means the eligible person must have a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse affect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities; have a condition which the medical profession treats as chronic sickness, such as diabetes; or is terminally ill. It does not include a frail elderly person who is otherwise able-bodied or any person who is only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as with a broken limb.
You do not, however, have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT, but the nature of your illness or disablement must be specified.
If you think you are eligible for VAT relief you will need to complete a Declaration Form and return it to us to receive a VAT refund. You can download our VAT Exemption Forms in either Word or PDF format. (Please note that these documents will open in a new window.)
Please note that you will be charged VAT and it is your responsibility to claim this back if you think you are eligible to do so.
